7 Days of Flavor!

For the next 7 days I will be testing out and giving a review of 7 different flavors of Millstone Coffee Company!

I went to my local grocery store and bought all of the flavors they
sell in 1.75 ounce packaging which would translate to about 3-4 cups of coffee for each package using a Keurig Coffee Brewing System.

Now I found 7 different flavors and they are as follows;

 Colombian Supremo and Breakfast Blend

French Vanilla and Chocolate Velvet

Hazelnut Cream and Chocolate Truffle

Vanilla Nut Cream

Tomorrow will begin Day 1 of the 7 Days of Flavor!

Make sure to comment if you have tried any of these flavors out!

My Top 3 Keurig Coffees

My Top 3 Keurig Coffees!

Sumatra by Starbucks is one of my favorite early morning coffees because it packs a powerful punch, just what you want when you need a pick me up in the morning! Even though it is a Dark Roast, I feel it is really smooth and it doesn't have that sharp bitter taste of most dark roast coffees.

Wolfgang Puck's Breakfast in Bed K Cups

Breakfast in Bed is a very tasty mid-day coffee that doesn't leave you jittery. Just enough to help you finish out the rest of your day comfortably. Personally I love drinking it because it is light on my stomach and it still has the flavor of a rich cup of coffee without the after effects of a darker roasted coffee.

Barista Prima Coffeehouse Columbia K Cups

Columbia is my most favorite because it to me is an anytime coffee that just tastes great. I drink coffee at all hours and I love this medium to dark roast when I am sitting at home updating my blog or watching Desperate Housewives on Netflix.

I have left links so that you can check these coffees out for yourself! I find that in my area it is cheaper to buy k-cups online, because at my local stores a pack of 12 k-cups costs over $11.00. On the links I provided you, it is 24 k-cups for $14.50. I have also found that buying them in the 48 packs saves you even more and you don't have to freak out when you run out!

Talk to you soon!

First Impressions of Green Beans Coffee

10:49 AM theothersideofalex 0 Comments

First Impression Of Green Beans Coffee

My very honest first impression of their Mocha with 4 expresso shots was that it was amazing!!
I didn't expect such a balanced flavor with the mocha, usually mochas just taste like you put a splash of coffee into a hot chocolate and it doesn't really go together. I also find that with the flavored coffees they tend to be over sweetened. I love sweet coffee but dang sometimes it is just too much. So Green Beans Coffee really did a good job of cutting the sweetness so you can taste both the chocolate and the coffee.

You can find their coffee here,

The interesting thing about Green Beans Coffee is their support of the Armed Forces.
Me being a Navy Wife and all I can truly appreciate the fact that they have shops in many different bases and ship to APO/FPO address. The have a dedication to the military that spans 17 years. They also have locations out in the Middle East, Africa, and Northern America directly serving our Troops.

Their motto is "Honor First, Coffee Second"

On their website you can donate a cup of coffee or as they call it "a cup of joe", and you are able to donate more than one at a time to service members out in the field. You can also donate bags of coffee and the minimum donation is at $2, so it is something most people can afford to help in.

I am really impressed by Green Beans Coffee and the Mission, and I am pretty proud they just opened up one near me. I drink a lot of coffee, so knowing that it is in support of my friends and family makes it taste that much better.

Thank you,

-Alexandra

How To: Make Coffee Using A "Spanish Style" Kettle

How To: Make Coffee Using A "Spanish Style" Kettle

Today I am going to show you how I make my coffee using a "Spanish Style" Kettle or it's proper name THE MOKA POT. Here are your instructions:

1. Fill the bottom of kettle with water until it is right at where the bolt is, that is perfect so it won't flood the coffee grounds above it.

2. Place the "basket" or the middle piece on top of the bottom.

3. Tightly pack your favorite coffee grounds into the "basket" or middle piece like you would brown sugar.

4. Twist and tightly secure the "collecting chamber" or the top piece so that your coffee doesn't boil out through the middle.

5. Place on the edge of a stove top burner at medium high heat,(if you place a kettle in the center of a burner you may melt the handle or heat it up a lot and burn your self and ruin your stove top) until you hear the simmering, once you hear it quickly remove from heat so you don't burn the coffee. This is important as coffee brewed burns quickly.

6. Then serve however you like your coffee.

Just for you I created a video showing you step by step how I make coffee using this method.

I hope you enjoy and subscribe to my youtube channel for more videos like this.

Now it is time for just a little bit of history and information on the Spanish Style kettle or what is originally called the Moka Pot.

Inventor: Luigi De Ponti first patented this design for Alfonso Bialetti in 1933.
The company Bialetti continues to make that exact same model to this day and named it Moka Expresso.
This style of coffee pot is most commonly used in Europe and Latin America, which is why I nick named it the "Spanish Style Kettle". Everyone in my family, we are Puerto Rican, uses this method to make their coffee.

In stores they currently carry 5 different sizes for the Moka Pot, these different sizes correspond to how many shots of expresso they create.

1. Creates 1 shot of expresso.
2. Creates 3 shots of expresso.
3. Creates 6 shots of expresso.
4. Creates 9 shots of expresso.
5. Creates 12 shots of expresso.

This is by far my favorite way to make coffee. I hope you enjoy it as well. If you take a look at my tabs you will see I have a page called Best Brewing Systems, there you will see a convenient link to the exact same kettle I have from the brand Bialetti, which is the one I use.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!
